Christine is Ngarrindjeri-Ramindjeri & Gurindji woman,
Christine has worked over twenty eight (28) years in the government sector both State & Federal with majority of her employment experience in West Australia in the areas of Aboriginal employment (5 years), equity & justice (16 years) as Conciliator/Community Eduction Officer with the WA Equal Opportunity Commission.
In 2001 Christine returned to her country of South Australia in the position of Manager, Indigenous Services Unit, Centrelink.
In October 2005 she commenced with the Office for Women as Project officer working with the Aboriginal Women's State-wide Advisory Council before securing permanency in 2006 as Aboriginal Policy Officer, Aboriginal Women's Initiatives until her retirement in September 2007.
In addition to her employment Christine has been actively involved on a number of Boards such as ANTAR (Australians for Native Title & Reconciliation) and AACM (Aboriginal Alliance Coalition (South Australian branch), and Nunga Mi:Minar (Aboriginal Domestic Violence Service provider).
Current Board memberships, in addition to Tandanya, include Citizen Advocacy South Australia Incorporated, an advocacy service for those members of the community with Intellectual or brain damaged disabilities. Her involvement with this agency is to ensure that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community members with these disabilities are not overlooked and or forgotten. She is also an Executive Committee (Secretary) and volunteer for the non-profit organisation Neporendi Aboriginal Forum Incorporated located in the southern metropolitan region.
Christine has recently accepted a consultancy position as Indigenous Trainer with Lifeline Australia. The position is to assist in the training of Practice Nurse and Aboriginal Health Workers in rural ands remote areas as referral points for domestic and family violence to deliver an Indigenous context on the subject matter within the training modules. This is a national program and requires extensive travel throughout Australia.
Finally Christine, in her spare time, became a reluctant amateur performer and singer with a cast of six other Aboriginal women in 'Sista Act: Women of Country' a play that was written around the 40th anniversary of the 1967 Referendum for the 2007 Adelaide Fringe Festival.
