An exploration of the importance of football in the life of a remote Aboriginal community.  This series of documentary-style photographs captures how footy has become an integral part of Tiwi culture and highlights not only the Tiwi community's passion for the game of AFL (Australian Rules Football) but also its positive influence on the community life.

The calibre of the footballers that have originated from the Tiwi Islands is remarkable, given that less than 3,000 people live there.  They have thrilled crowds all over Australia with their sporting prowess, athleticism and style on the football field.  Yet despite the exotic nature of Tiwi-style 'footy' this exhibition reflects how deeply the links between sport, culture and art resonate throughout our collective Australian psyche capturing the spirit and vitality of the Tiwi people
and their love for football.
