Our Metro Mob 2010

23 July - 29 August

Tandanya

Tandanya is proud to present the exhibition Our Metro Mob 2010 as part of the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival Program.

Our Metro Mob is a celebration of Aboriginal culture and creativity and features diverse ranges of work by Adelaide based Aboriginal emerging artists from backgrounds across Australia’s many clan and language groups. Our Metro Mob attempts to explore and present artists’ experiences and notions of Aboriginality and Aboriginal culture showcasing vibrant traditional and contemporary style artworks. These works encapsulate identity and connectedness and aim to provide the viewer with insight into artists’ stories and concepts surrounding Aboriginal heritage.

Some of the artists included in Our Metro Mob this year  include; Christopher Crebbin, Coral Hayes, Jacinta Dixon, Joy Makepeace, Margaret Farrugia, Marika Wilson and Tandanya Artist in Residence, Merrill Bray. Our Metro Mob also includes a work by Peter Sharrock who recently exhibited in Spain for the show ‘Intangibles in Terra Australis’.

The exhibition will be open for public viewing from July 23 until August 29 with the official opening to be held at Tandanya, Wednesday July 28 at 6pm.
