Come and celebrate NAIDOC week at Tandanya by joining in the many cultural activities on offer.
NAIDOC Week activities are held each year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. All Australians are encouraged to participate in and learn about the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage and where better to do this but at Tandanya.
Art & Craft Workshops
Try your hand at jewellery making, weaving, decorating masks and rock art. Monday 6th July to Thursday 9th July at 10am, 1pm and 2pm the cost is a gold coin donation only. Space is limited so please book by calling 08 8224 3222
Cultural Performances and Presentations
Hear John Packham, an accomplished artist, cultural instructor and musician, play the didgeridoo (yidaki) and talk about one of the world’s oldest musical instruments and his passion for playing it. Or watch and experience the traditional dance of the Torres Strait Islands performed by Eddie Peters. Contact Tandanya for session times.

Films
Learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their histories and cultures through films shown daily. Tandanya will be screening Kanyini, Liyarn Ngarn, Sacred Ground, In a League of Their Own (Tiwi Bombers) and selected titles from the Australian Film Commission's Black Screen.
